RBI Assistant Eligibility 2025, Educational Qualification, Age Limit

Candidates aspiring to appear for the RBI Assistant 2025 exam must fulfill specific eligibility criteria related to nationality, educational qualifications, and age limits. These requirements ensure that applicants possess the necessary academic credentials and meet the age standards essential for the role. Meeting these eligibility norms is crucial as only eligible candidates will be allowed to apply and appear for the exam. It also helps maintain a standardized recruitment process and ensures candidates are prepared for the responsibilities of the Assistant post.

 

RBI Assistant Eligibility 2025


To be eligible for the RBI Assistant post, candidates must satisfy the following conditions, including citizenship status, educational qualifications, and age limits. Apart from academic qualifications, candidates are expected to have basic computer knowledge and proficiency in the local language of the region where they intend to apply. Additionally, relaxations in age limits are provided for reserved categories to promote inclusivity and equal opportunities for all aspirants.

 

RBI Assistant Nationality


Candidates must be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who migrated to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle permanently, or

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam to settle permanently in India.

 

RBI Assistant Educational Qualification


The percentage of marks is calculated by dividing the total marks obtained in all subjects across all semesters by the maximum marks and ignoring decimal fractions.

Educational QualificationA Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in aggregate. Candidates must also have basic computer knowledge (word processing on a PC).
Ex-ServicemenMust either be a graduate from a recognized university or have passed matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces with at least 15 years of defense service.
Language ProficiencyCandidates must be proficient in the local language of the region where they are applying. This includes the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the language.

 

RBI Assistant Age Limit & Relaxation


The required age range for RBI Assistant 2025 is 20 to 28 years. Candidates must meet this requirement as of the specified cut-off date.

  • Candidates must provide their 10th standard mark sheet or any other educational certificate as proof of age.
  • Those claiming relaxation benefits must submit original category certificates during document verification.

RBI Assistant Number of Attempts


There is no limit on the number of attempts for the RBI Assistant exam. However, candidates must adhere to the age limit criteria.

RBI Assistant Selection Process


The selection process comprises three stages:
1. Preliminary Exam

The first stage is an objective test with three sections:

  • English Language
  • Reasoning Ability
  • Quantitative Aptitude

2. Main Exam

Candidates who qualify for the Prelims move on to the Mains, which consists of five sections:

  • English Language
  • Reasoning Ability
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • General Awareness
  • Computer Knowledge

3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

Candidates who pass the Prelims and Mains must appear for the Language Proficiency Test (LPT), ensuring they can read, write, and speak the official language of the region they applied for.
