RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the RBI Assistant posts, applicants need to meet certain RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2025 regarding age, education, and nationality. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 50% marks in any subject. However, those from SC/ST/PWD backgrounds can apply with passing marks. - a citizen of India or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
RBI Assistant Educational Qualifications 2025
Authorities calculate the percentage of marks by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all subjects and semesters by the maximum marks in all subjects. They ignore any fractions in the percentage. For example, if the percentage calculated is 49.99%, it will be considered as 50%.

Ex-Servicemen | A candidate from the Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defense service. |
Proficiency in Language | Candidates applying for the post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e., know to read, write, speak, and understand the language) of the state/any of the states falling under the recruiting office. Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT: Candidates should know how to read/write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT for which a candidate wishes to apply. |

RBI Assistant Age Relaxation 2025
The RBI Assistant Eligibility 2025 Age Relaxation granted by RBI is as follows-

PWD | 10 years for General candidates, 13 years for OBC candidates, 15 years for SC/ST candidates |
Ex-Servicemen | To the extent of service rendered by them in Armed forces + 3 years subject to the maximum of 50 years |
Divorced women/widows/ judicially separated women who are not re-married | 10 years |
Candidates having work experience in the RBI | To the extent of their working years + maximum of 3 years |
Candidates belonging to the provincial state of Jammu and Kashmir | 5 years |
Note:
- The candidate needs to show the 10th standard marks sheet or any other Educational certificate as proof of age.
- The candidates who want to claim the relaxation must produce the original category certificate.
RBI Assistant Number of Attempts 2025
There is no restriction on the number of times a candidate can attempt the RBI Assistant exam. Of course, the restriction will come in place due to the age limit which candidates should bear in mind.
RBI Assistant Scheme of Selection 2025
The selection process for the position of RBI Assistant consists of three stages: the Preliminary Exam, the Main Exam, and the Language Proficiency Test (LPT).
Preliminary Exam:
The preliminary exam is the first stage and includes three sections: English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude.
Main Exam:
Candidates who pass the preliminary exam move on to the main exam, which consists of five sections: English Language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, General Knowledge, and Computer Knowledge.
Language Proficiency Test (LPT):
After successfully passing both the preliminary and main exams, candidates are eligible to take the Language Proficiency Test. This test ensures that candidates are proficient in the official language of the state they are applying for.
Final Selection:
The final selection of candidates is based on their performance in the online examinations (preliminary and main), the qualifying Language Proficiency Test, a medical examination, and document verification.
