Before applying for the exam, candidates must carefully review all the RBI Grade B Important Considerations to avoid disqualification at any stage. - Women who have changed their name or surname after marriage need a valid Gazette Notification, marriage certificate, or affidavit. They should have their original and photocopy.

The age limit for RBI Grade B is between 21 to 30 years. Candidates must meet this age requirement as per a specific reference date, which is yet to be officially announced. Once released, the exact date will be updated here. As per expectations, candidates should have been born not earlier than 2nd July 1995 and not later than 1st July 2004. RBI Grade B Age Relaxation for Bank Employees
As per the RBI Grade B Age Eligibility criteria, candidates with prior work experience can also receive relaxation in the upper age limit. Those who have worked as officers in Commercial Banks, Financial Institutions, or RBI in the public sector are eligible for an age relaxation of up to 3 years. However, it's important to note that this relaxation is capped at 3 years, regardless of the total years of experience. For example, even if a candidate has 10 years of experience in a bank, they will not receive 10 years of age relaxation.
RBI Grade B Experience Required
Candidates who have prior work experience as officers in a Commercial Bank, Financial Institution, or in RBI (Public Sector) may be eligible for a relaxation in the age limit, subject to a maximum of 3 years. However, this relaxation is capped, for example, even if you have 10 years of work experience, the upper limit of relaxation remains 3 years only.
While prior work experience in banking or finance can be advantageous during the selection process, it is not mandatory for appearing in the RBI Grade B Exam. RBI Grade B Nationality
While nationality is not a frequently discussed aspect of the RBI Grade B eligibility, it is essential to be aware of it to avoid any issues later in the process.
To apply for the RBI Grade B exam, a candidate must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of settling permanently, or
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of permanent settlement in India.
Candidates from categories (2) to (4) must have an eligibility certificate from the Government of India. If the certificate is not available at the time of application, the candidate may still appear for the exam, but the appointment will be confirmed only after the certificate is issued.
RBI Grade B Attempts
The maximum RBI Grade B attempts is six for candidates belonging to the General category. However, for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories, there is no limit on the RBI Grade B attempts.
