The candidates will have to satisfy the RBI Grade B Eligibility based on various parameters as mentioned in RBI Grade B Notification. Graduation in any discipline /equivalent technical or professional qualification with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or Post-Graduation / equivalent technical qualification with a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters/years is the eligibility for RBI Grade B DR (General).

RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for General
The RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for General is a Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s Degree. The graduation/ bachelor’s/post-graduation/ master’s can be in any discipline. Check out the table given below to know the minimum percentage required in graduation/post graduation for RBI Grade B.

RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for DEPR
The RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for DEPR is a Master’s degree in Economics/ Finance or any equivalent stream. The minimum requirement of marks for candidates with a master’s degree is 55%.
RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for DSIM
The RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for DSIM is a Master’s degree in Mathematics/ Data Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning/ Big Data Analytics/ Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics/ Applied Statistics & Informatics. Apart from these, the candidate can also have 2 year Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) or 4 years bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
RBI Grade B Eligibility – Important Considerations
While you analyze your eligibility for the RBI Grade B exam, keep in mind the following points:
- You should have a degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State
- Legislature in India
- Alternatively, the degree should belong to an educational institution set up by an Act of Parliament or declared to be
- Deemed as a University under Section-3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
- Women who have changed their name or surname after marriage need a valid Gazette Notification, marriage certificate, or affidavit. They should have their original and photocopy.
- SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWS/Ex-servicemen category candidates must have the required certificates in the prescribed format to avail of reservation or relaxation.
- You can benefit from age relaxation if you have working experience as an officer in a Commercial Bank or RBI in the Public Sector with an upper cap of three years.
- Widows do not have a provision of age relaxation.
RBI Grade B Eligibility – CGPA to Percentage Conversion
Some institutes/ universities grant CGPAs, so for those who define the criteria for conversion of CGPA to percentage, the same will be accepted. Those who have not defined the criteria can follow the below-mentioned criteria:

RBI Grade B Age Limit
The RBI Grade B Age Limit must be between 21 and 30 years. There is a reference date for the calculation of the age limit which has not been notified yet. The reference date will be updated here once out. Certain age relaxations are provided to candidates belonging to specific categories.

The OBC category candidates are given a relaxation of 3 years so the RBI Grade B Age Limit for OBC is 33 years.

The RBI Grade B Age Limit for SC is 35 years as 5 years age relaxation is given to SC (Schedule Caste) candidates.
RBI Grade B Age Limit for ST
The RBI Grade B Age Limit for ST is 35 years as 5 years age relaxation is given to candidates belonging to the ST (Schedule Tribe) category.
RBI Grade B Age Limit for PWD
The RBI Grade B Age Limit for PWD is 40 years for General category candidates, 43 years for OBC, and 45 years for SC/ST.

RBI Grade B Eligibility 2025 – Nationality
To fulfill the nationality needs, candidates must be either of the following:
- A citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
RBI Grade B Attempts
The maximum RBI Grade B attempts is six for candidates belonging to the General category. However, for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories, there is no limit on the RBI Grade B attempts.
