RBI Grade B Application Fee 2024

The application fee for the RBI Grade B exam varies by category. SC/ST/PWD candidates are required to pay Rs. 100 plus GST, while Gen/OBC/EWS candidates need to pay Rs. 850 plus GST. Staff of RBI are exempt from the application fee. The fee can be paid online through a debit/credit card or any other payment gateway as mentioned by RBI. Please note that this application fee is non-refundable.

Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–DEPRA Master’s Degree in Economics (or any other master’s degree where “Economics” is the principal constituent* of the curriculum/syllabus, namely MA / MSc in Quantitative Economics, Mathematical Economics, Financial Economics, Business Economics, Agricultural Economics, and Industrial Economics) OR
b. A Master’s Degree in Finance (or any other master’s degree where “Finance” is the principal constituent* of the curriculum/syllabus, namely MA / MSc in Quantitative Finance, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Techniques, International Finance, Business Finance, Banking and Trade Finance, International and Trade Finance, Project and Infrastructure Finance, Agri Business Finance).

Minimum of 55 percent marks or an equivalent grade is required in aggregate.
Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–DSIMa. A Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics/ Applied Statistics & Informatics with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years; OR
b. Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute; OR
c. Master’s degree course in Data Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning/ Big Data Analytics, with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years from a recognized University/ Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved programme; OR
d. Four-year Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years in Data Science/ AI/ ML/ Big Data Analytics from a recognized University/ Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved programme; OR
e. Two years Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years from a recognized University/ Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved programme.

RBI Grade B Negative Marking

There is a negative marking in the RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam. 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted for every wrong/incorrect answer. 

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam Pattern

The RBI Grade B Mains exam consists of three papers: Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3. Paper 1 and 3 are a combination of both objective and descriptive questions, while Paper 2 is completely descriptive in nature. The detailed format is presented below in a tabular format.

RBI Grade B Interview

Important PointsDetails
Shortlisting CriteriaCandidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on the aggregate of marks obtained in Phase 2 (Paper 1 + Paper 2 + Paper 3).
Interview MarksThe interview will comprise 75 marks.
Psychometric TestCandidates must undergo a Psychometric Test conducted by the Bank before the Interview. No marks will be allotted for this test, and it will not form part of the final selection criteria.
Interview LanguageCandidates may opt for an interview either in Hindi or English.
