The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the new exam date for the SSC CHSL 2025 Tier 1 Exam. As per the latest notice, the exam will now be held from 12th November 2025 onwards. Earlier, the exam was expected in September and later shifted to October, but now the schedule has been finalized for November. This exam is one of the most popular government exams for 12th-pass students who want to join central government departments. SSC CHSL Tier 1 Slot Selection Process

 

The SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam 2025 will begin on 12th November 2025. This year, the SSC has taken another candidate-friendly step by allowing aspirants to choose their own exam city, date, and shift through the official candidate portal. This feature gives students more flexibility and helps avoid travel or scheduling issues during the exam period. The slot selection window for SSC CHSL 2025 will remain open from 22nd October to 28th October 2025. Candidates can log in to the SSC portal during this period to choose their exam city, date, and shift.

SSC CHSL Tier 1 City Intimation Slip Date

 

Before the exam, SSC will release a City Intimation Slip to inform candidates about their exam city, date, and shift. This slip helps candidates plan their travel and reach the exam centre on time. The city intimation slip is expected to be released around the first week of November 2025, followed by the SSC CGL Admit Card, which will be released 3-5 days before the exam. 

 

How to choose SSC CHSL Exam City, Date, and Shift?

 

To make the exam process easier, SSC has allowed candidates to choose their preferred exam city, date, and shift. Follow these steps to complete your selection correctly.

  • Login to the SSC portal using your registration ID and password.
  • You will see three cities that you had selected while filling the application form.
  • Based on these cities, you can view the available slots (dates and shifts).
  • Select your preferred city, date, and shift from the available options.
  • If all slots in your selected cities are full, SSC will show a list of alternate cities with vacant slots. You can pick one city from that list.
  • Once you confirm your selection, no further changes will be allowed, so make your choice carefully.

Please note: If you do not select your slot between 22nd and 28th October 2025, SSC will consider that you do not wish to appear for the exam. Candidates choosing regional language options may have limited date and shift availability. SSC will also release a step-by-step guide with screenshots on the portal to help candidates complete the slot selection process easily.
