  1. Tier 1 – Computer-Based Test (CBT): Objective Multiple-Choice Questions, Online Mode, Qualifying in nature.
  2. Tier 2 – Computer-Based Test (CBT) + Skill Test: Objective Questions + Skill & Typing Test, Three sections with two modules each, Online Mode, Merit-based.
  3. Document Verification & Medical Examination: Candidates shortlisted after Tier 2 must complete Document Verification (DV) and a Medical Examination for final selection.

SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam Pattern

The SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam will include multiple-choice questions, which will be provided in both English and Hindi language. The details of the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam are as follows:

  • Total Time: The exam duration is 60 minutes.
  • Question Type: Objective Type, Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Language: Parts II, III, and IV will be in both English and Hindi.
  • Negative Marking: 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern

The SSC CHSL Tier-II exam is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) that tests candidates based on multiple-choice questions. Along with the CBT, candidates applying for specific posts must clear a Skill Test or Typing Test.

  • The Tier-II exam has 135 questions for a total of 405 marks.
  • Each correct answer gives 3 marks, and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Candidates applying for Data Entry Operator (DEO) posts must take a Skill Test.
  • Candidates applying for Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) posts must clear a Typing Test.
