SBI PO 2025 Eligibility
The State Bank of India (SBI) conducts the Probationary Officer (PO) examination annually to recruit dynamic individuals into its managerial cadre. Aspiring candidates for the SBI PO 2025 exam must meet specific eligibility criteria encompassing nationality, age, educational qualifications, and the number of permissible attempts. Nationality Criteria for SBI PO
To be eligible for the SBI PO 2025 examination, a candidate must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle permanently, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia), or Vietnam with the intention of permanent residence in India.
Candidates falling under the latter three categories must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
SBI PO Age Limit
As of April 1, 2024, candidates must be between 21 and 30 years of age. This implies that applicants should have been born not earlier than April 2, 1994, and not later than April 1, 2003. Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories as per government norms:

SBI PO Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. Those in the final year/semester of their graduation are also eligible to apply, provided they can produce proof of graduation on or before April 30, 2025. Additionally, candidates with qualifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Accountant, or Company Secretary are eligible.

The number of permissible attempts for the SBI PO exam varies based on the candidate's category:

SBI PO Physical Fitness
Candidates must be physically fit and meet the medical standards set by the bank. A medical examination will be conducted to assess the candidate's physical fitness.
SBI PO Reservation for Persons with Disabilities (PWD)
Candidates applying under the PWD category must produce a disability certificate issued by a competent authority. SBI provides reservations for candidates with disabilities under the following categories:

SBI PO Eligibility for Ex-Servicemen
Ex-Servicemen who have rendered at least 5 years of military service and have been released on completion of their assignment or on their own request are eligible to apply.
SBI PO Eligibility for Domicile of Jammu & Kashmir
Candidates who are domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from January 1, 1980, to December 31, 1989, are eligible for age relaxation.
Additional Considerations for SBI PO
- Candidates with a history of loan defaults, low credit scores, or adverse credit card records may face disqualification from the selection process.
- Applicants must maintain a good moral character. Any involvement in activities leading to a tarnished reputation can result in ineligibility.
- Candidates should not have been dismissed from any previous employment.
- Candidates should not be involved in any criminal case or have a criminal record.
