LIC AAO Eligibility Criteria: Candidates need to fulfill certain eligibility criteria before they submit their application for LIC AAO 2025. The eligibility criteria are generally outlined by the recruiting bodies to filter eligible candidates for the role they are recruiting. LIC AAO Eligibility Criteria 2025

LIC AAO Nationality

 

To apply for the LIC AAO 2025 exam, a candidate must be an Indian citizen. However, certain other categories of applicants are also eligible under specific conditions:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin (PIO) who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia), or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Note: Candidates under these categories (except Indian citizens) must produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India during the document verification process.

 

LIC AAO Age Limit

 

To apply for the LIC AAO 2025 exam, candidates must meet the specified age criteria. The minimum and maximum age limits are as follows:

  • Minimum Age Limit: 21 years
  • Maximum Age Limit: 30 years

LIC AAO Age Relaxation

 

Candidates from reserved categories are eligible for age relaxation as per LIC guidelines. This relaxation varies by category and provides extended age eligibility to help more candidates apply.

LIC AAO Educational Qualification

 

To be eligible for the post of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) at LIC, candidates must meet specific educational qualifications based on their chosen discipline. Each specialization—generalist, IT, chartered accountant, actuarial, and Rajbhasha—requires a distinct academic background and/or professional credentials from recognized Indian or international institutions.

AE (Civil)B.Tech/B.E. (Civil) from an AICTE-recognized Indian University/Institution with minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in planning & execution of multi-storied building projects.
AE (Electrical)B.Tech/B.E. (Electrical) from an AICTE-recognized Indian University/Institution with minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in planning & execution of multi-storied building projects.
AAO (Chartered Accountant)Bachelor's Degree + Passed Final Exam of ICAI and completion of Articles. Must be an Associate Member of ICAI with valid membership number.
AAO (Company Secretary)Bachelor's Degree + Qualified Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
AAO (Actuarial)Bachelor's Degree in any discipline + Passed at least 6 papers of the exam conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute & Faculty of Actuaries, UK with valid membership number.
AAO (Insurance Specialist)Bachelor's Degree in any discipline + Professional qualification in Life Insurance (Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India – Life) + Minimum 5 years' experience in Life Insurance Companies (regulated by IRDAI).
AAO (Legal)Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD) + Enrolled with Bar Council as Advocate + Minimum 2 years' post-enrolment experience as Advocate or Law Officer in bank/financial institution/statutory body/company/Government.

 

LIC AAO Attempts

 

The LIC AAO Notification has no mention of the number of attempts for candidates. It means there is no fixed limit on how many times you can appear for the LIC AAO exam. As long as you meet all the eligibility criteria, especially the age limit for your category, you can apply. For example, general category candidates can apply up to 30 years of age, while those from reserved categories get some relaxation in age. So, you can keep trying for the exam as long as you're within the allowed age range.
