Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued the expected examinations dates for the recruitment of 35,208 candidates for NTPC (Non- Technical Popular Categories) posts. The examinations will be started from December 15 for recruitment to various posts. RRB is yet to announce the date of release of admit card. You can know more about RRB NTPC admit card here.

In this post, we will try to demystify the recruitment process for all the RRB Exam aspirants and tell you what happens if you pass the upcoming RRB NTPC CBT Stage I Exam.

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern – Selection Process

The recruitment process involves

  1. 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT),
  2. 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT),
  3. Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable) and
  4. Document Verification/Medical Examination.

Overview of RRB NTPC CBT Stage I Exam

  • The first stage of the exam is a common CBT (Computer Based Test) for all the notified 13 categories of posts- Commercial Apprentice (CA), Traffic Apprentice (TA), Goods Guard, Junior Accountant cum Amanuensis (Typist) (JAA), Senior Clerk cum Typist, Senior and Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Station Master, Senior and Junior Time Keeper and Trains Clerk.
  • The question paper for the CBT will be of 90 minutes duration for 100 questions.
  • The questions will be from the following questions- General Awareness, Mathematics and General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • There will be 1/3rd negative marking for the wrong answers in the CBT exam

The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices.

Note: RRB NTPC 1st Stage CBT is common for all the notified posts. There will be negative marking and 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern for CBT Stage II

Candidates passing this will be eligible to appear in CBT Stage 2.

Separate 2nd Stage CBT shall be taken for each of the 7th CPC Level i.e. Level 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 with graded difficulty level. All posts falling within same level of 7th CPC shall have a common 2nd stage CBT. If candidates are eligible for more than one level of 7th CPC posts as per their educational qualifications, they have to give common 1st stage CBT and corresponding 2nd stage CBT for each level of 7th CPC.

The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices.

Note: There will be negative marking and 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

Typing Speed / Skill Test

Skill test / type test will be conducted for both CBT qualifying candidates as per the requirement. The typing speed for both Hindi and English the languages ​​should be so that candidates applying in the recruitment of RRB NTPC should have typing speed of 30 words per minute in English and 25 words per minute in Hindi. This will make it difficult for you to be selected in RRB NTPC at low speed.
