The SBI Clerk Exam Pattern 2026 helps candidates understand the number of questions, marks, sectional timing, and marking scheme of the examination. The State Bank of India (SBI) conducts the Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) recruitment through an online preliminary examination, mains examination, and Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT), wherever applicable. As per the official notification, the Preliminary Examination is tentatively scheduled for September 2026, while the Main Examination is expected in November 2026.
SBI Clerk Exam Pattern 2026
The SBI Clerk 2026 exam pattern consists of three phases: preliminary examination, mains examination, and local language proficiency test. The Preliminary Examination is used to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. Marks obtained in the preliminary examination are not added to the final merit list. The final merit list is prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Main Examination, subject to qualifying the local language test wherever applicable.

What is the SBI Clerk Selection Process 2026?
The SBI Clerk selection process consists of an online preliminary examination, an online mains examination, and a Local Language Proficiency Test. Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Examination are shortlisted for the Main Examination. The final selection is based on performance in the Main Examination, subject to eligibility verification and qualification in the local language test wherever required.

What is the SBI Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern 2026?
The SBI Clerk Preliminary Examination is an online objective test of 100 marks. It consists of three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. Each section has a separate time limit of 20 minutes. SBI has not prescribed minimum qualifying marks for individual tests or the aggregate score in Prelims.

What is the SBI Clerk Mains Exam Pattern 2026?
The SBI Clerk Main Examination consists of four sections with a total of 190 questions carrying 200 marks. Each section has a separate time limit. The Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude section carries 60 marks for 50 questions. The total duration of the Main Examination is 2 hours 40 minutes.

What is the SBI Clerk Local Language Proficiency Test 2026?
The Local Language Proficiency Test is conducted for provisionally selected candidates who have not studied the specified local language of the state/UT applied for in Class 10 or Class 12. Candidates who provide a valid Class 10 or Class 12 mark sheet/certificate showing that they studied the specified local language are not required to take the test. The LLPT is conducted after provisional selection but before joining the bank. Candidates who fail to qualify the test are not offered appointments. Candidates are required to secure the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by SBI in the individual test. SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/XS/DXS candidates receive a 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks.

What is the SBI Clerk Final Selection Process 2026?
The marks obtained in the preliminary examination are not considered for final selection. Only the aggregate marks obtained in the Main Examination are considered for preparing the final merit list. The merit list is prepared state-wise and category-wise. Final selection is subject to eligibility verification and qualifying the specified local language test wherever applicable.

SBI Clerk 2026 Bonus Marks for Trained Apprentices
SBI has provided a special weightage for eligible trained apprentices of SBI. Such candidates will receive bonus marks equal to 2.5% of the maximum marks of the Main Examination, i.e. 5 marks out of 200. These marks are added to the aggregate main examination score for calculating the final score. The benefit is applicable to eligible SBI apprentices whose engagement started on or after January 1, 2022, who completed the required one-year branch experience by August 31, 2026, and fulfilled the other conditions specified in the notification.
