SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria

According to the released SSC CHSL Notification for a total of 3712 vacancies, candidates had to fulfill the following eligibility criteria as of 1st August 2024.

SSC CHSL Notification 2024: Nationality

To be considered eligible for SSC CHSL Exam 2024, candidates must meet specific criteria outlined by the government. The eligibility requirements are as follows:

  1. Indian Citizenship: Candidates must be citizens of India.
  2. Nepalese Citizenship: Individuals holding citizenship of Nepal are also eligible to apply.
  3. Bhutanese Citizenship: Citizenship of Bhutan qualifies individuals for candidacy.
  4. Tibetan Refugees: Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement are eligible.
  5. Persons of Indian Origin: Individuals of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and several East African countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam, with the intention of permanent settlement in India, are also eligible to apply.

SSC CHSL Notification: Age limit As On 1/8/2024

Every candidate who is going to Apply Online for the SSC CHSL Examination 2024 has to fulfill the following age criteria. The important date for determining age is set as 1st August 2024. The age requirement for the positions is between 18 and 27 years old. This means candidates must have been born between 2nd August 1997, and 1st August 2006, to be eligible to apply.

SSC CHSL Essential Educational Qualifications As On 1/8/2024

  1. For LDC/ JSA, and DEO (except DEOs in C&AG): Candidates must haveΒ passedΒ the 12th Β Standard or equivalent examination from aΒ recognizedΒ  BoardΒ orΒ University.
  2. For Data Entry Operator (DEO Grade β€˜A’) in the Office of Comptroller andΒ Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream withΒ Mathematics as aΒ subjectΒ from a recognized Board or equivalent.
  3. The candidatesΒ who have appeared in their 12th Standard or equivalent examinationΒ can also apply, however, they mustΒ possess Essential qualifications on or before the cutoff date of 1st August 2024.

Candidates can apply for the SSC CHSL exam by following the steps below:

1. Access SSC Website: Visit the SSC official website at ssc.gov.in to begin the application process.
2. Navigate to Application Section: Click on the “Apply” tab to proceed.
3. Select Exam Category: Choose the “Combined Higher Secondary Level” exam.
4. Generate Registration Credentials: Fill in details to obtain your registration number and password.
5. Provide Personal and Educational Information: Provided details about personal and educational details.
6. Upload Photo and Signature: Scan and Upload the required documents. From this year, candidates are required to upload a live photograph using either their webcam, laptop camera or mobile camera.
7. Choose Examination Centers: Select three exam centers within the same region.

9. Submit Application: Once submitted, no further changes can be made.
10. Pay Application Fee: Complete the process by paying the required fee.

Documents Required During Form-Filling

  1. A scanned copy of the applicant’s signature (of a size 10 kb < Size < 20 kb) in JPG format.
  2. Valid e-mail ID of the candidate for registration and all related correspondence.
  3. Valid ID proof of the candidate.

  • A total time of 60 minutes is there.
  • The Tier-I Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple-choice questions only. The questions will be set in English and Hindi for Parts II, III & IV.

Points to mention –

  • Tier II will be conducted in two sessions – Session –I & Session II, on the same day. Session I will include conducting Section I, Section II, and Module I of Section III. Session II will include conducting Module II of Section III.
  • It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify for all the sections of Tier II.
  • Tier II will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions, except for Module II of Section III. The questions will be set in English and Hindi except for Module II (i.e. English Language and Comprehension module) in Section II.
  • There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section I, Section II, and Module-I of Section III. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
  • Module-I of Section-III i.e. Computer Knowledge Test is mandatory but qualifying in nature.

Module-II of Section-III i.e. Skill Test/ Typing Test:

  • Module II of Section III will include conducting of Skill Test/ Typing Test in Session II on the same day.
  • Skill Test/ Typing Test will be qualifying.
  • Errors in the Skill Test will be calculated up to 2 decimal places.

Skill test/Typing test will be conducted as per the following scheme.

  • Skill Test is mandatory for Data Entry Operators. No candidate is exempted from appearing in the Skill Test.
  • Part A -Skill Test for the post of DEO/ DEO Grade β€˜A – β€˜Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (Eight Thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged based on the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. The duration of the
