The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will announce the IBPS RRB GBO 2026 notification with detailed eligibility criteria for the upcoming recruitment cycle. The IBPS RRB General Banking Officer (Scale II) exam is designed for experienced banking professionals aiming to build their careers in Regional Rural Banks. IBPS RRB GBO Nationality


Candidates applying for IBPS RRB GBO 2026 must meet the nationality criteria outlined below:

  • Indian citizens are eligible.
  • Citizens of Nepal and Bhutan can apply.
  • Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle permanently are eligible.
  • Persons of Indian origin from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and other specified countries who intend to permanently reside in India are allowed to apply.

The IBPS RRB GBO age criteria defines the minimum and maximum age limits for candidates. Age relaxations apply as per government norms for reserved categories.

IBPS RRB GBO Credit Score 

 

Maintaining a good credit history is an important aspect for candidates joining the participating Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). This ensures financial responsibility and reliability. The detail of the required credit history details are as follows:

Credit History RequirementCandidates must maintain a healthy credit history at the time of joining the participating RRBs. The minimum credit score will follow the policy of the respective RRBs, which may be updated from time to time.
Updating Credit Status

If a candidate's credit report with CIBIL or similar agencies is not updated before joining, they must either: 

1. Update their credit status, or 

2. Provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the lender confirming no outstanding dues on accounts reflected negatively in the report. Failure to do so may result in the offer letter being withdrawn or cancelled. The final decision rests with the allotted RRB.

ExemptionsCandidates without a bank account are not affected by this requirement.
Application NoteMaintaining a credit history is not a pre-condition for applying; it only applies at the time of joining.
