The IBPS RRB GBO Notification 2026 will be released for the upcoming recruitment cycle. The selection process for the Scale II Officer (General Banking Officer) includes a multi-stage process comprising online examinations followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates. The online exam is conducted for a total duration of 120 minutes and consists of 200 objective-type questions. The IBPS RRB GBO recruitment is conducted through a single-level online exam followed by an interview. Further details of the selection process are as follows:

  • Candidates must achieve minimum scores to be considered for shortlisting.
  • Based on vacancies, up to three times the released vacancies may be called for the interview.
  • Shortlisting depends on individual test scores and the total score in order of merit.
  • The final decision on interview calls and provisional allotment is made solely by IBPS.

IBPS RRB GBO Exam Pattern 2026

 

The IBPS RRB GBO (General Banking Officer) exam is conducted as a single-level online objective test followed by an interview for Officers Scale II. The detailed exam patterns are as follows:

  • Candidates can choose either English or Hindi for the language section.
  • Penalty for wrong answers: 0.25 of the assigned marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. No penalty for unattempted questions.
  • Shortlisting: Minimum sectional and total scores are required to qualify for interviews or provisional allotment.
