The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was established in 1975. It conducts exams like SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC CPO, etc for recruitment of Officers in Group B & Group C. SSC has introduced major changes in the SSC CGL Exam Pattern from 2022 onwards :
- SSC CGL Tier - I is now only qualifying in nature.

- Only Tier- II is considered for final merit
- Tier - III and IV have been scrapped
- Negative marking changed
- Post preference to be selected after Tier-II Result
- Final DV will be done at the concerned departments only. SSC will not conduct DV.

Educational Qualification
Essential Educational Qualifications for various posts include :

Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
The candidates who have appeared in the final year of their graduation can also apply, however, they must possess Essential qualifications on or before the cut-off date.
Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer
- Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or Institute.
- Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant Cost & Management Accountant Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Master in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.
- During the period of probation direct recruits shall have to qualify for the "Subordinate Audit/ Accounts Service Examination" in respective branches for confirmation and regular appointment as Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.
Junior Statistical Officer
Bachelor's Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level;
Or
Bachelor's Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level.
Filling out the SSC CGL Application Form
In order to apply and register candidature for the SSC CGL Exam, the candidates should follow the given steps.

Application Fee
A payment of Rs 100 has to be made as an application fee by candidates registering to take the SSC CGL exam. Online or offline methods using SBI challan or BHIM, UPI or internet banking, credit card or debit card. However, female candidates and those belonging to reserved categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) are exempt from the application fee payment.
