MHCET Law entrance Exam Syllabus 2022 - Complete details

The MHCET Law entrance examination is conducted to admit candidates into the various law colleges in Maharashtra for the 3-year and the 5-year law programs. The state CET cell Maharashtra sets the MHCET Law entrance exam syllabus for both the three-year and the five year LLB programs. The candidates who wish to appear for the MH CET exam should stay abreast with the syllabus, which is the first reference point for their exam preparation. Both the examinations have common subjects, but the questions for the 3-year LLB admission will be of a graduate level, and the 5-year program examination level will be of an intermediate level. 

MHCET Law Entrance Exam Syllabus

The MHCET Law entrance exam syllabus is categorised into four subjects that you need to prepare if you appear for the 3-year program. These subjects are GK, Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning, Current Affairs, Logical and English Reasoning, and English. On the other hand, MH CET LAW 2022 Syllabus for five years LLB program will include these subjects and an extra subject of Mathematics. 

The candidates will have to attempt 150 questions in total.

The English subject draws the highest weightage in the 3-year law syllabus, whereas in the 5-year program, the legal reasoning and legal aptitude have the same weightage.

Candidates should start preparing with the subject where they expect to score better. It is also important that you practice several mock exam papers to fair better in the examination.

MHCET Law Entrance Exam Syllabus

Below is the  MHCET Law entrance exam syllabus of all the four subjects that you will be tested on in the MHCET Law entrance examination.  Keep this handy to plan your preparation well. You can also refer to it before the exam to make sure that you have not missed preparing any topic.

Legal aptitude and logical reasoning

This section tests the candidates' aptitude and interest in law, problem-solving abilities, and research aptitude. The questions are framed on legal facts and propositions that satisfy the proposition. The proposition may not be a fact, but the candidate has to assume that it is true and thus answer the questions accordingly to draw conclusions that are well supported.

The level of question varies as per the LLB exam that you have applied for. There are 40 questions for the five year LLB program and 30 questions for the three year LLB program.

General knowledge and current affairs

The candidate needs to be updated on the recent Indian and the international arena happenings. The question in this section can come from Geography, Civics, history, general science, and current affairs in the last year. The section tests the candidates' knowledge of current affairs at the international and domestic levels. You will also be tested on static GK questions, including places, people, and things.

  • There will be 30 questions in the five year LLB program and 40 questions in the three year LLB program.
  • The important topics that you will be tested on are politics, books and authors, geography, science & technology, industries, environment, and ecology, ancient, modern, and medieval world history, economies, international and national hot topics, major Indian industries, agriculture, books, and authors, etc.

English

The English question section tests the candidates' English proficiency. It tests the candidates on vocabulary, grammar, English usage errors and comprehension.  

Basic Mathematics

The candidates also need to prepare for mathematics if they appear for the five-year LLB paper. There will be a total of ten questions asked in the question paper.

Yes, you can apply for the three-year LLB program. You should, however, have completed your graduation at the time of admission.
