RRB ALP Selection Process 2026 for CBT 1, CBT 2, CBAT and DV

The RRB ALP Selection Process 2026 consists of five major stages. These stages include Computer Based Test 1, Computer Based Test 2, Computer Based Aptitude Test, Document Verification, and Medical Examination. Every applicant must qualify each of these selection stages in order to be recruited as an assistant loco pilot. How many stages are there in RRB ALP 2026?

 

There are five major stages in the RRB ALP exam process. Every candidate aspiring to join the Indian Railways in the locomotive department should be aware of the recruitment process as mentioned in the RRB ALP Notification. The CBT 1 examination is the first stage in the recruitment process, which is conducted for 75 marks. Whereas the CBT 2 examination is held for 175 marks. However, candidates who will have to appear for the CBAT test must score at least 42 marks to qualify. There is also no negative marking in this test.

What is the ALP CBT 1 Selection Stage?

 

The first stage in the RRB ALP Selection Process is the Computer-Based Test 1. Candidates will be evaluated by their skills and knowledge in subjects like Maths, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness. The details of the first selection stage is given below:

RRB ALP CBT 2 Selection Stage

 

Applicants who qualify for the first stage will be shortlisted for the CBT 2 examination. The CBT 2 examination will be conducted for 175 marks. Given below are the details:

What is the next stage in Assistant Loco Pilot Selection Process?

 

The next stage in the Loco Pilot selection process is the CBAT examination. The assistant loco pilot position will have to undergo a computer-based aptitude test. This assessment round is conducted to examine the skills and abilities required for the particular job role. The details of the computer-based aptitude test are given below:

  • Test Motive: This test is conducted to evaluate a candidate's decision-making skills
  • Qualifying Score: Candidates must score at least 42 marks to qualify for this examination. There is no relaxation provided on the minimum score.
  • Scoring System: There is no negative marking in the computer-based aptitude test.

 

What are the important documents for RRB ALP?

 

The important documents for RRB ALP include educational certificates, ID proof, category certificate, and more. Upon qualifying the above-mentioned stages, candidates will have to submit their original documents to the board. These documents must be updated and authenticated. In case of any fraud or malpractice, the recruitment of the candidate will be cancelled immediately. Some of the important documents required are as follows:

Why is the medical examination conducted for RRB ALP posts?

 

The medical examination is conducted for the RRB ALP posts as candidates are required to be examined by their physical strength, stamina, vision test, and other medical requirements for the job role. For the vision test, candidates must have 6/6 vision without glasses, normal color vision without night blindness. Applicants will also be evaluated by their hearing ability and other medical requirements needed for the locomotive pilot responsibilities.
