SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2024
SSC has specific Eligibility requirements that candidates must meet to Apply Online for the SSC CGL exam. These criteria are based on three main factors:
- Age Limit,
- Educational Qualification, and
- Nationality.
SSC CGL Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 and 32 years of age, with the specific age limit varying according to the post for which candidates are applying. The details are as follows:

SSC CGL Age Relaxation Criteria
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories were granted age relaxation to a certain extent. The details of age relaxation are as follows:

SSC CGL Educational Qualification

Statistical Investigator Grade-II | A bachelor’s degree from an approved institution or institute in any field, including statistics. Statistics must have been a subject for the candidates during the three years of their graduate course. |
Assistant in National Company Law Appellate Tribunal | Essential qualification: A bachelor’s degree from a reputed university or institute is required. Desirable qualifications: A law degree from an accredited university is desired. |
Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission | Essential qualification: Bachelor’s degree from authorized universities or institutes. Desirable qualifications: – At least one year of research experience at a reputable university or research institution. – A legal or human rights degree from an approved university. |

SSC CGL Eligibility – Graduation Percentage
To meet the SSC CGL eligibility, the graduation percentage usually doesn’t matter for most positions. But, if you’re applying for the Junior Statistical Officer post, you need at least 60% marks in 12th-grade Mathematics. It’s suggested candidates should have marks around 45 to 50% marks in their graduation to ensure they easily meet the SSC CGL Eligibility.

SSC CGL 2024 – Nationality
The SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria also include the nationality of the candidates. The details regarding candidates’ citizenship are as follows.
A candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
- (a) A citizen of India.
- (b) A citizen of Nepal.
- (c) A citizen of Bhutan.
- (d) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates falling under categories (b), (c), and (d) above must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
SSC CGL Physical Eligibility
Apart from CBT candidates had to appear for the SSC CGL Physical Eligibility tests for certain posts, which checks if candidates are physically fit for those posts. This includes height, chest measurement, and endurance tests.
