The exam is objective-type, except for Module II of Section III, which involves the Data Entry Speed Test (DEST). Negative marking applies, with 1 mark deducted for wrong answers in Sections I, II, and Module I of Section III, and 0.50 marks deducted for wrong answers in Paper 2 and Paper 3. The SSC CGL Data Entry Speed Test requires 2,000 key depressions in 15 minutes and is mandatory for all SSC CGL posts.
