SSC CGL 2022 Eligibility Criteria: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was established in 1975. It conducts exams like SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC CPO, etc for recruitment of Officers in Group B & Group C. The SSC CGL is the Combined Graduate Level conducted for filling up officer & assistant level posts in various ministries and departments of the Central Government. SSC CGL Recruitment Exam is one of the most popular Government Recruitment Exams in the country as Lakhs of aspirants apply for this exam every year. It is always a good idea for the candidates to know about the SSC CGL 2022 eligibility criteria before appearing for the SSC CGL examination. 

SSC has introduced major changes in the SSC CGL Exam Pattern from 2022 onwards :

  • SSC CGL Tier - I is now only qualifying in nature.
  • Additional sections of Reasoning, General Awareness, Computer Module and Data Entry added in Tier – II
  • Only Tier- II is considered for final merit
  • Tier - III and IV have been scrapped
  • Negative marking changed
  • Post preference to be selected after Tier-II Result
  • Final DV will be done at the concerned departments only. SSC will not conduct DV.

SSC CGL 2022 Eligibility Criteria

SSC CGL eligibility criteria are based on three parameters: age, educational qualification and nationality.

Age limit

The candidate age is needed to be in between 18 and 32 years. Relaxation in age is applicable for the candidates coming under specific categories. The details are as follows:

Nationality

A candidate must be either:

  1. a citizen of India, or
  2. a subject of Nepal, or
  3. a subject of Bhutan, or
  4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification required for the various post is as follows:

Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer

  1. Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or Institute.
  2. Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant or Cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.
  3. During the period of probation direct recruits shall have to qualify the "Subordinate Audit/ Accounts ServiceExamination" in respective branches for confirmation and regular appointment as Assistant AuditOfficer/Assistant Accounts Officer.

Junior Statistical Officer

  1. Bachelor's Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level;
    Or
    Bachelor's Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
  2. Statistical Investigator Grade-II:
  3. Bachelor's Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute. The candidates must have studied Statistics as a subject in all three years or all the 6 semesters of the graduation course.

  1. Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
  2. The candidates who have appeared in their final year of their graduation can also apply, however they must possess Essential qualification on or before the cut-off date i.e .08 October 2022.
