SSC MTS 2024 Notification- Overview

A brief overview of the SSC MTS exam 2024. The Staff Selection Commission conducts the Multi-Tasking Staff exam to recruit qualified candidates for clerical posts in various government organizations. SSC MTS Notification 2024 – Eligibility Criteria

SSC has a set of eligibility criteria that need to be fulfilled by the candidates to be eligible to apply online. Aspiring candidates who are preparing to appear in the examination must be aware of the eligibility criteria. We have mentioned below the detailed eligibility criteria for the candidates.

Nationality/ Citizenship

A candidate must be either:

  1. a citizen of India, or
  2. a subject of Nepal, or
  3. a subject of Bhutan, or
  4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st of January 1962, to permanently settle in India, or
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

Age Limit 

The age limits for the posts as per the Recruitment Rules of various User Departments are as follows:

  • 18-25 years for MTS
  • 18-27 years for a few posts of MTS.

SSC MTS Notification 2024 – Application Process

The SSC MTS Application process is expected to start in May 2024. Candidates will be able to apply online till 6th June as per the schedule released by the Staff Selection Commission. Eligible candidates will be able to apply online from the official website of the Staff Selection Commission.

How to Apply Online for SSC MTS Notification 2024?

To apply and register candidature for the SSC MTS Exam, the candidates should follow the given steps.

Step 1: Go to the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) by visiting https://ssc.nic.in/.

Step 2: On the SSC website, look for the option that says “New User? Register Now.” Click on it.

Step 3: You will be directed to the registration form. Fill out the required details in the form, such as your name, email address, mobile number, and other necessary information. Make sure to provide accurate and valid information.

Step 4: Once you have completed the registration form, submit it. A registration number will be generated, and you will also need to set a password for your account.

Step 5: After registration, go back to the SSC website and log in using the registration number and password you set during the registration process.

SSC MTS Notification 2024 – Application Fee

A payment of Rs 100 has to be made as an application fee by candidates registering to take the SSC MTS exam. Online or offline methods using SBI challan or BHIM, UPI or internet banking, credit card or debit card. However, female candidates and those belonging to reserved categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) are exempt from the application fee payment.

SSC MTS Notification 2024 – Points to Remember

  • The performance of the candidate in Session 1 will be evaluated and the Performance in Session 2 will only be evaluated if the candidate clears Session 1.
  • The recruitment process for the post of Havaldar will consist of Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST).
  • For the post of MTS, there will be separate category-wise, State/ UTwise cut-offs in Session II. As the vacancies for MTS are in two age groups i.e. (i) 18 to 25 years and (ii) 18 to 27 years, the Commission may fix separate age group-wise, category-wise, and State/ UT-wise cut-offs in CBE.
  • There will be no negative marking in Session-I. In Session II, there will be a negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
  • Marks scored by candidates in Computer Based Examination, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission through Notice No: 11/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019, and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.
