The Ministry of Finance, Government of India has recommended that going forward clerical recruitments for the twelve public sector banks and vacancies advertised henceforth, both Prelim & Main exams will be conducted in the 13 regional languages along with English & Hindi. This decision will be applicable to all future vacancies including the SBI clerk exams as well. It will not impact the vacancies that are already advertised.

IBPS Clerk 2021 will be held in these 13 regional languages along with Hindi and English – Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odiya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu

This decision was made on the recommendation of a committee that was constituted by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India for looking into the matter of holding examinations for clerical cadre in Public Sector Banks (PSBs) in regional languages. Due to this, the ongoing process of holding the examination which was initiated by IBPS was kept on hold until there was some clarity regarding the recommendations of the Committee.

The committee worked with an aim to provide a uniform opportunity to the local youth for employment opportunities and have an upper hand with the customers through local/regional languages.

About IBPS Clerk 2021

Every year, The Institute for Banking Personnel Selection conducts the IBPS Clerk exam. The IBPS is the apex authority for evaluating candidates for jobs in India’s public sector banks. IBPS has been conducting clerk exams for the past 11 years, and this year’s exam is termed IBPS Clerk CRP XI. The IBPS Clerk 2021 Recruitment Notification was released on 11 July 2021. A total of 5830 vacancies were announced, and the recruitment process is likely to resume soon.

The IBPS Clerk CRP exam is divided into two parts: the preliminary test and the main test. Both the stages will be conducted in 13 languages along with Hindi and English. Students who pass both of these exams are chosen for the position.
