This decision will be applicable to all future vacancies including the SBI clerk exams as well. It will not impact the vacancies that are already advertised.

IBPS Clerk 2021 will be held in these 13 regional languages along with Hindi and English – Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odiya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu

This decision was made on the recommendation of a committee that was constituted by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India for looking into the matter of holding examinations for clerical cadre in Public Sector Banks (PSBs) in regional languages. Due to this, the ongoing process of holding the examination which was initiated by IBPS was kept on hold until there was some clarity regarding the recommendations of the Committee.

The committee worked with an aim to provide a uniform opportunity to the local youth for employment opportunities and have an upper hand with the customers through local/regional languages.
