Ranjitsinh Disale is the first Indian to have been awarded the Global Teacher Award in 2020, will now be working on the Coach Project, launched by The World Bank in March 2021. The project's aim is to 'help countries accelerate learning by improving teacher professional development.

NMPB and CSIR-NBRI Sign MoU for Promotion of Cultivation and Production of Medicinal Plants

The National Medicinal Plant Board (NMPS) and the National Botanical Research Institute(CSIR-NBRI) signed an MoU for extending joint collaborative efforts to boost the cultivation and production of medicinal plants and herbs in India.

The MoU will facilitate development of Quality Planting Material (QPM) of medicinal plants and herbs.

Germany’s FIFA World Cup-winner Sami Khedira announces retirement

JB Mohapatra given additional charge as CBDT chairman

J B Mohapatra, a 1985-batch IRS officer, was given the additional charge as CBDT chairman after the extended tenure of incumbent P C Mody ended. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) frames policy for the Income Tax Department.

Before this appointment, he was serving as the principal chief commissioner of Income Tax for the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region.

Centre assures safe potable tap water by 2022 in every household of North Western States

It has been decided that in 5 North-Western States & UTs i.e,Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) will be expedited & every rural household will be provided with tap water connections by 2022, instead of by 2024.

JJM was announced on 15-08-2019 to provide safe piped drinking water to every rural household
