Commonwealth Games 2022: Indian women win historic lawn bowls gold; men defend table tennis title

Lovely Choubey, Pinki, Nayanmoni Saikia and Rupa Rani Tirkey secured India’s first-ever medal in lawn balls by winning the gold in the Women’s Fours event.

The Indian men’s table tennis team retained its Commonwealth Games title with a convincing 3-1 win over Singapore in the final.

Sharath Kamal, the 40-year-old veteran, has been involved in each of the 5 men’s gold 🏅.

Lok Sabha passes Wild Life (Protection) Amendment Bill, 2021

The Lok Sabha today passed the Wild Life (Protection) Amendment Bill, 2021, seeking to increase the species protected under the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972, and implement the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, CITES.In the last eight years protected areas in the country have increased from 693 to 987.

RBI allowed invoicing and payments for international trade in Indian Rupee

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed invoicing and payments for international trade in Indian Rupee vide A.P (DIR Series).

The approval process is that for opening of Special INR Vostro accounts, banks of partner countries may approach Authorised Dealer (AD) banks in India which may seek approval from RBI with details of the arrangement.

RBI's financial inclusion index rose to 56.4 in March 2022

The Reserve Bank of India's composite financial inclusion index (FI-Index) capturing the extent of financial inclusion across the country rose to 56.4 in March 2022, showing growth across parameters. The index stood at 53.9 in March last year. It was at 43.4 for the period ending March 2017, showing rapid improvement in reach of financial services over the past five years.
