The GoIStats mobile application represents NSO's vision of creating an all-encompassing data ecosystem where every stakeholder can seamlessly access official data on the go. The application features an interactive "Key Trends" dashboard showcasing important socio-economic indicators with dynamic visualizations of critical metrics including GDP, inflation, employment data.

The percentage of zero-dose children (those who have not received a single vaccine) in India has declined from 0.11 percent in 2023 to 0.06 percent in 2024, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. campaigns across the country.

As per the latest SRS (2020-22), the Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) of India has declined from 130/lakh live births in 2014-16 to 88/lakh live births in 2020-22. As per the United Nations Maternal Mortality Estimation Inter-Agency Group (UN-MMEIG 2000-2023) report, the MMR of India stands at 80 per lakh live births,
reflecting an 86 per cent decline relative to the global reduction of 48 per cent since 1990.
As per the United Nations Inter-Agency Group for Child Mortality Estimation (UNIGME 2024 Report), India achieved a 78 per cent decline in the Under-Five Mortality Rate (U5MR) surpassing the global reduction of 61 per cent and 70 per cent decline in the Neonatal Mortality Rate
(NMR) compared to 54 per cent globally during 1990 - 2023.

Alembic Pharmaceuticals said it has received the final approval from the US health regulator for its generic Doxorubicin Hydrochloride Liposome injection in different types of cancer.
The approval by the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) for the abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) is for Doxorubicin Hydrochloride Liposome injection of strengths 20 mg/10 mL (2 mg/mL)
and 50 mg/25 mL (2 mg/mL) single-dose vials, Alembic Pharmaceuticals said in a statement.
The approved ANDA is therapeutically equivalent to the reference-listed drug product (RLD), Doxil Liposome Injection, 20 mg/10 mL (2 mg/mL) and 50 mg/25 mL (2 mg/mL), of Baxter Healthcare Corporation, it added.
Doxorubicin Hydrochloride Liposome Injection is indicated for the treatment of ovarian Cancer, AIDS-Related Kaposi's sarcoma, and multiple myeloma.
Citing IQVIA data, Alembic said Doxorubicin Hydrochloride Liposome injection, 20 mg/10 mL (2 mg/mL) and 50 mg/25 mL (2mg/mL) single-dose vials have an estimated market size of $29 million for the 12 months ended March 2025.

Naveen Jindal-controlled Jindal Steel has commissioned its first continuous galvanising line at Angul integrated steel complex in Odisha. This is part of a Rs 3,400 crore investment in a cold rolling mill (CRM) complex.
The new line will produce galvanised and galvalume products under the Jindal Panther Galvanised and Zinkalume brands, catering to various industries,
including appliances, automotive, infrastructure, and construction.
“The commissioning of our first galvanising line at the Angul Integrated Steel Complex is a proud milestone. It reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality, value-added steel products for diverse industry needs,” Naveen Jindal, chairman of Jindal Steel, said in a statement.
Jindal Steel’s investment in value-added products is in line with an increasing focus by steel companies on downstream that offer higher margins.
Overall, Jindal Steel’s crude steel capacity at the Angul plant is set to increase to 12 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) by the end of 2025 as the company adds 6 mtpa.
The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has issued the ‘Model Rules for Felling of Trees in Agricultural Lands’, with the objective of supporting States and Union Territories in simplifying regulatory frameworks and promoting agroforestry. Agroforestry offers multiple benefits including, enhancing rural livelihoods, improving soil health,
conserving biodiversity, increasing tree cover, water conservation, contributing to climate resilience, while reducing pressure on natural forests.
The Model Rules aim to establish a streamlined regulatory framework by providing simplified procedures for registering agroforestry lands and managing tree harvesting and transit.
The State Level Committee established under the Wood-Based Industries (Establishment and Regulation) Guidelines, 2016 will also be responsible for implementing these model rules. Its role will be to guide the States and Union Territories on promoting agroforestry and enhancing timber production from farmlands by easing regulations related to tree harvesting and,
timber transportation, particularly for commercially valuable species. The committee will empanel agencies for verifying applications for felling of trees from agricultural lands.
As per the model rules, applicants are required to register their plantations on the National Timber Management System (NTMS) portal, which is being developed.
The applicants can periodically update the plantation information and upload geotagged photos of the plantation to ensure traceability. Applicants wishing to harvest trees from registered plantations can apply online through the National Timber Management System, providing specific details of the trees intended for felling.

India’s gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections have doubled over the past five years to reach a record ₹22.08 lakh crore in the financial year 2024–25, up from ₹11.37 lakh crore in FY21, according to government data released.
The collections in FY25 represent a 9.4% year-on-year growth compared to ₹20.18 lakh crore collected in FY24.
This marks the highest-ever annual GST collection since the rollout of the indirect tax system in July 2017.
The average monthly GST collection in FY25 stood at ₹1.84 lakh crore, improving from ₹1.68 lakh crore in FY24 and ₹1.51 lakh crore in FY22. Back in FY22, the average monthly mop-up was just ₹95,000 crore.
Since its launch, GST has seen consistent growth, with the number of registered taxpayers rising from 65 lakh in 2017 to more than 1.51 crore in 2025, the data showed.
GST replaced around 17 state and central taxes and 13 cesses, streamlining the indirect tax system into a unified five-tier structure. The system completes eight years on July 1.
States and Union Territories combined will raise about Rs 2.86 lakh crore from markets in the quarter July-September 2025, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has indicated.
The expected market borrowing plans have been decided upon by the RBI after consulting with the State Governments/Union Territories.
On July 1, Rs 18,100 crore is proposed to be borrowed - Andhra Pradesh (Rs 2,000 crore), Assam (Rs 900 crore), Gujarat (Rs 1,000 crore), Himachal Pradesh (Rs 1,200 crore), Kerala (Rs 2,000 crore), Maharashtra (Rs 6,000 crore), Rajasthan (Rs 500 crore), Tamil Nadu (Rs 2,000 crore), Telangana (Rs 1,500 crore), and West Bengal (Rs 1,000 crore).
Out of the gross market borrowing of Rs 14.82 lakh crore budgeted for 2025-26, Rs 8.00 lakh crore (54.0 per cent) is planned to be borrowed in the first half of the fiscal, through issuance of dated securities.
The gross market borrowing of Rs 8.00 lakh crore shall be completed through 26 weekly auctions, a Ministry of Finance statement had indicated way back in March.
The market borrowing will be spread over 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 30, 40 and 50-year securities.
The share of borrowing (including SGrBs) under different maturities will be: 3-year (5.3%), 5-year (11.3%), 7-year (8.2%), 10-year (26.2%), 15-year (14.0%), 30-year (10.5%), 40-year (14.0%) and 50-year (10.5%), the March finance ministry statement noted.
India restricted the imports of jute, woven fabrics and yarns from Bangladesh from any land port on the border. "Import from Bangladesh shall not be allowed from any land port on India-Bangladesh border.
However, it is allowed only through Nhava Sheva seaport...Import of certain goods from Bangladesh to India are regulated with immediate effect,".
In May 2025, India had imposed port restrictions on import of certain products such as readymade garments and processed food from Bangladesh.
Reliance Defence Limited, promoted by Reliance Infrastructure announced a strategic partnership with Coastal Mechanics Inc (CMI), a US Department of Defense-authorised contractor, to jointly tap into India’s ₹20,000 crore defence market for maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO), and upgrades.
Under the agreement, Reliance Defence and Coastal Mechanics will collaborate to provide comprehensive end-to-end MRO, upgrade, and lifecycle support services to the Indian Armed Forces. The focus will be on a range of critical defence platforms, including over 100 Jaguar and MiG-29 fighter aircraft, Apache attack helicopters, L-70 air defence guns,
various other legacy systems that require long-term sustainment and modernisation.
The companies said the partnership targets a long-duration opportunity driven by the Indian military’s evolving strategy of extending asset lifecycles and adopting performance-based logistics, rather than outright replacement.
As part of the agreement, Reliance Defence and Coastal Mechanics will set up a joint venture at MIHAN (Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur) in Maharashtra. The facility will serve both domestic and export markets, offering MRO and upgrade services for multiple air and land defence platforms operated by India’s armed forces.
