Unilever said Hein Schumacher will step down as CEO and be replaced by finance chief Fernando Fernandez.
Schumacher, who joined in July 2023, will step down as CEO in March and will leave the company on May 31, the consumer goods giant said.
Srinivas Phatak, currently Unilever's deputy chief financial officer and group controller, will become acting CFO, it said.
Before becoming the company CFO in January 2024, Fernando served as President of Unilever’s Beauty & Wellbeing business. In previous roles as President Latin America, CEO Brazil and CEO Philippines, he led some of the company’s best performing markets, delivering strong financial results while developing exceptional talent, the company said in a statement.

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), in collaboration with MyGov, is set to launch an exciting data-visualization hackathon titled "Innovate with GoIStats", centered around the theme “Data-Driven Insights for Viksit Bharat”. The hackathon aims to inspire India’s young and brightest minds –
students and researchers to utilize the vast official statistics generated by the National Statistics Office (NSO) for creating innovative data driven insights.
The Hackathon will take place on the MyGov platform, from 25th February 2025 to 31st March 2025. Students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate or doing research can participate.
The top 30 entries, selected by a panel of expert evaluators from the industry and academia will get prize money, with one first prize of Rs. 2 Lakhs, followed by two second prizes of Rs. 1 Lakh each, two third prizes of Rs. 50,000 each and twenty-five consolation prizes of Rs. 20,000 each.
The Nayab Singh Saini-led BJP government rolled out the “Haryana Witness Protection Scheme, 2025” to ensure the protection of the witnesses as the state gears up to implement the three new criminal laws.
As per the notification by the home department, the scheme will be applicable to the witnesses of those offences which are punishable with death or life imprisonment,
or imprisonment up to seven years and above.
It will also cover punishments under sections 74, 75, 76, 77, 78 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as well as under Sections 8, 10, 12, 14 and 15 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
A government spokesperson said that under the scheme,
there will be three categories of witnesses based on the threat perception.
Category A includes situations where the threat extends to the life of the witness, their family members, or any person in whom the witness is interested, during the investigation or trial, or thereafter.
Category- B involves cases where the threat extends to the safety, reputation, or property of the witness, and their family members, while category C applies where the threat is moderate and involves harassment or intimidation of the witness, their family members etc.

Nongthombam Biren Singh is an Indian politician, former footballer and journalist who served as the 12th Chief Minister of Manipur since 2017, in addition to representing the Heingang Assembly constituency in the Manipur Legislative Assembly since 2002. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) invited bids from merchant bankers to assist the government in its planned stake sale in public sector banks and listed financial institutions.
As per the RFP (request for proposal) floated by DIPAM, the merchant bankers would be empanelled for three years (further extendable by 1 year),
and they would advise the government on the timing and the modalities of the transaction for dilution of equity in select PSU banks/select listed public financial institutions.
The last day for putting in bids by merchant bankers is March 27.
The merchant bankers can apply for empanelment with DIPAM under two categories,
depending upon the capacity of the bidders in handling the capital market transactions. The empanelment category would be 'A+' for a transaction size of Rs 2,500 crore or more, and 'A' for transaction size of less than Rs 2,500 crore.
Among the empanelled merchant bankers, DIPAM may select one or more bankers for a specific transaction, depending on the requirement.
All expenses in this regard will be borne by the bankers except the tour and stay expenses of government and officials of the PSB/listed PFI, the DIPAM said.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) imposed a total penalty of Rs 5.05 crore on Indian Clearing Corporation (ICCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of BSE, for alleged violations of cyber security and system audit-related norms.
The market regulator conducted an inspection between December 2022 and July 2023, following which it sent the show-cause notice in October.
Sebi's findings showed that ICCL had submitted the network auditor report to the regulator without any management or board comments.
The norms prescribe that the audit report, along with the management’s comments, be placed before the governing board of the market infrastructure institutions.
The same, along with the board’s comments, must be submitted to Sebi within one month from the completion of the audit.
Further, it was observed that ICCL did not have an up-to-date inventory, as per the norms. The order noted that while ICCL conducted cyber audits biannually, the observations made in the report were not addressed in a time-bound manner.
The market regulator added that the clearing corporation did not have a one-to-one correspondence between the disaster recovery site (DRS) or near site (NS) and the Primary Data Centre (PDC), which is mandated under regulatory norms.
