The Indian Army contingent departed today, for 17th edition of India- Mongolia Joint Military Exercise NOMADIC ELEPHANT. The exercise is scheduled to be conducted in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from 31st May to 13th June 2025. Exercise NOMADIC ELEPHANT is an annual event conducted alternatively in India and Mongolia.
The Indian contingent comprising 45 personnel will be represented mainly by troops from a battalion of the ARUNACHAL SCOUTS. The Mongolian Armed Forces contingent, also comprising similar strength, will be represented by 150 Special Forces unit.
Aim of the exercise is to enhance interoperability between the two forces while employing joint task force in semi conventional operations in semi urban/ mountainous terrain under United Nations mandate.

Hero FinCorp has received the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (SEBI) approval to launch its highly anticipated ₹3,668 crore Initial Public Offering (IPO). This regulatory nod follows months of preparation and marks a significant milestone for the company as it prepares to enter the public markets.
The Hero FinCorp IPO will consist of two main components: a fresh issue of shares worth ₹2,100 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) by existing shareholders amounting to ₹1,568 crore. Major investors participating in the OFS include AHVF II Holdings Singapore II Pte. Ltd, Apis Growth II (Hibiscus) Pte. Ltd, Link Investment Trust (via Vikas Srivastava), and Otter Ltd.
In athletics, India’s Jyothi Yarraji and Avinash Sable delivered standout performances to win gold in their respective events at the 26th Asian Athletics Championships at GUMI, South Korea today. Sable clinched the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase title with a season-best time of 8 minutes, 20.92 seconds.
With the victory, the two-time Olympian and reigning Asian Games champion became the first Indian man in 36 years to win steeplechase gold at the Asian Championships. He joins Harbans Singh (1975) and Dina Ram (1989) as the only Indian men to achieve the feat. Sable, who won silver in the 2019 edition in Doha, is also the national record holder in the event.
Later, Yarraji claimed her second consecutive gold medal in the women’s 100-meter hurdles, clocking 12.96 seconds to set a new championship record. Yarraji, India’s fastest woman hurdler, surged late in the race to secure the victory and rewrite history.
After Jyothi and Sable set the tone, the quartet of Jisna Mathew, Rupal Chaudhary, Kunja Rajitha and Subha Venkatesan clinched the gold medal in the women’s 4×400-meter relay with a season-best time of 3:34.18, extending India’s dominance on the third day of the continental championship. It was India’s 10th overall gold in the event .

Indian shooter Tejaswani claimed the gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol event to continue the country’s domination in the ISSF Junior World Cup 2025 in Suhl, Germany. Tejaswani aggregated 31 after firing five shots in the eight-women final.
Currently, India is leading the medal standings with 11 medals including three gold, four silver and four bronze in one of the world’s most prestigious tournament for junior shooters.
India’s economic growth in FY25 hit a four-year low of 6.5 per cent, slowing down sharply from the 9.2 per cent growth recorded in FY24. However, Q4 GDP growth beat estimates after accelerating to 7.4 per cent but it couldn't save the economy from posting its slowest growth since Covid-era.
In the quarter ending March 31, 2025, India’s growth stood was fastest in the four quarters, on the back of robust industrial activity and sustained global trade tensions grew larger by day.

The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush; and Union Minister of State, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, Shri Prataprao Jadhav launched the AyushSuraksha Portal at Ayush Bhawan, New Delhi.
The portal was unveiled during a press briefing, marking a significant moment in the Ministry’s efforts to enhance accountability and transparency across the Ayush sector.
The Ayush Suraksha Portal has been developed in accordance with the Supreme Court’s order dated July 30, 2024, in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 645/2022,
wherein the Court emphasized the need for a centralized dashboard for monitoring and publishing data related to misleading advertisements and adverse drug reactions. The Court directed the Union of India to ensure that such a system is established to allow State Licensing Authorities to report complaints, share inter-state referrals, and update the status of actions taken.
The Central government NPS subscribers who retired on or before 31/03/2025 with minimum 10 years of qualifying service or their legally wedded spouse can claim the following additional benefits under Unified Pension Scheme (UPS), over and above the NPS benefits already claimed:
Lumpsum payment (one time) one-tenth of last drawn basic pay and dearness allowance thereon, for each completed six months of qualifying service.
Monthly Top-up amount is calculated based on admissible UPS payout + Dearness relief (DR) minus representative annuity amount under NPS.
