PM Modi launches Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission from Varanasi

Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission aims to fill gaps in public health infrastructure,especially in critical care facilities and primary care in both urban & rural areas.It will provide support for 17,788 rural health & wellness centres in 10 high focus states.

He also inaugurated various development projects worth around Rs 5,200 crore in Varanasi.

Siddhartha Lal appointed Eicher Motors MD for 5 years

Eicher Motors Ltd passed the resolution to reappoint Siddhartha Lal as the Managing Director of the company for five years, starting May 1, 2021.

The board also approved a revised remuneration structure for the Managing Director, with a maximum cap of 1.5 percent of profits as per Section 198 of the Companies Act.

GAIL to build largest green hydrogen plant

State-owned GAIL (India) Ltd will build India's largest green hydrogen-making plant as it looks to supplement ‎its natural gas business with carbon-free fuel.

Speaking at India Energy Forum by CERAWeek, GAIL chairman and managing director Manoj Jain said the company has floated a global tender to procure an electrolyser.

India's 1st Banni buffalo calf born through in-vitro fertilisation ( IVF) procedure

The first IVF calf of Banni breed of buffaloes, found primarily in Gujarat's Kutch region, was born at a farmer's house in the state's Gir Somnath district, Gujarat.The process was carried out to enhance the number of genetically superior buffaloes to increase milk production.

Banni buffalo is known for its resilience & higher milk producing capacity in an arid environment.

RPSG Group and CVC Capital land successful bids to acquire Lucknow and Ahmedabad IPL teams

The RPSG Group picked Lucknow as their home base with a winning bid of INR 7090 crores and Irelia Company Pte Ltd. (CVC Capital Partners) opted for Ahmedabad with a bid of INR 5625 crores, reports said. The franchise aspirants had a choice of picking from six cities- Cuttack, Dharamsala, Guwahati and Indore being the others.

India's first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant begins second phase of sea trials from Kochi

India's first indigenous aircraft carrier (IAC) Vikrant set sail for the second sea trials, ahead of its planned induction into the Indian Navy by August next year.

The 40,000-tonne aircraft carrier, the largest and most complex warship to be built in India, successfully completed a five-day maiden sea voyage in August 2021.
