Telangana tops in implementation of Rurban Mission

Telangana stood first in the implementation of the Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission (SPMRM) that was launched 4 years in the past to stimulate native financial growth, improve fundamental companies and create properly deliberate clusters.

Sangareddy and Kamareddy districts stood in the primary two positions among the many 300 clusters.

Houston COVID-19 vaccine Corbevax gets DCGI approval for use in India

The Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) and Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) announced that Corbevax, a protein subunit Covid vaccine, has received approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) to launch it in India.

The initial construct and production process of the vaccine antigen was developed at TCH's Centre for Vaccine Development.

Inmarsat Launches ‘World’s Most Sophisticated Communications Satellite’

Global satellite communications company Inmarsat has launched its first next-generation satellite, known as the I-6.

Billed as the most sophisticated commercial communications satellite ever launched, the I-6 F1 is the first of seven new fully-funded Inmarsat satellites to be launched by 2024.

The satellite was launched by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries from Japan.

Lulu Group to set up Rs500 crore food processing plant in Greater Noida

Middle East-based retail company Lulu Group announced the setting-up of its export-oriented food and agriculture-produce processing park in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, planned with an initial investment of ₹500 cr. Lulu Group will procure and export an estimated 20,000 tons (annually) of local fruits & vegetables from the state for the company’s hypermarkets.

Defence ministry puts restrictions on import of 351 items under staggered timeline

The defence ministry has announced a fresh list of 351 sub-systems and components that will not be allowed to be imported under a staggered timeline beginning December next year.

It is the third list released by the ministry in the last 16 months and it comes as part of the government's overall aim to make India a hub of manufacturing of military platforms and equipment.

Ace cueist Pankaj Advani defended his national billiards title — his 11th in the tournament — after he defeated his PSPB teammate Dhruv Sitwala 5-2 in a best of nine games final.

Advani responded with breaks of 56 and 46 to restore parity at 1-1 after Sitwala's breaks of 64 and 42 late.

Banks' gross NPAs may rise to 9.5% in September 2022: RBI report

The gross non-performing asset (GNPA) ratio of scheduled commercial banks is likely to increase to 9.5 % in September 2022 from 6.9 % in September 2021 in a severe stress scenario.

In the report, the central bank noted that the scheduled commercial banks would, however, have sufficient capital, both at the aggregate & individual levels, even under stress conditions.

Army sets up quantum computing lab, AI centre at engineering institute in Mhow

The Army, with support from the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), has recently established the Quantum Lab at Military College of Telecommunication Engineering, Mhow.

Indian Army has also established an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Centre at the same institution with over 140 deployments.

ITBP DG Sanjay Arora to hold SSB additional charge

ITBP director general Sanjay Arora will hold the additional charge of another border guarding force SSB as the latter’s chief Kumar Rajesh Chandra is set to retire on December 31.

Arora, a 1988-batch officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, was appointed the ITBP DG in August 2021.

The SSB is primarily tasked to guard unfenced Indian borders with Nepal and Bhutan.
