The Government of India has launched the DhartiAaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, a massive nationwide benefit saturation campaign. In a message Shri Jual Oram, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, stated that this Abhiyan is a historic step in realizing the dream of Prime Minister for Antyodaya. Our tribal brothers and sisters are the custodians of India’s ancient heritage.
Through this campaign, not just delivering schemes government led by Shri Narendra Modi is delivering dignity, self-respect, and a shared stake in Viksit Bharat. In another message Shri Durga DasUikey, Minister of State, Tribal Affairs, said that the sheer scale, planning, and community-led model of this campaign is unprecedented.
With synchronized efforts across 549 tribal dominated districts, 207 PVTG dominated districts, and support from multiple ministries and stakeholders, this Abhiyan stands as a model for convergence-based, inclusive governance.
During the second fortnight of this month from 15th to 30th June,
flagship campaign is being rolled out across an unparalleled geographical footprint—549 tribal-dominated districts and 207 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG)-dominated districts covering about 100,000+ Villages & Habitations in total.
India has entered into a new quantum era by successfully demonstrating an experimental advancement through DRDO-Industry-Academia Centre of Excellence (DIA-CoE), IIT Delhi. The free-space quantum secure communication using quantum entanglement over a distance of more than one km was achieved via a free-space optical link established on the IIT Delhi campus.
The experiment attained a secure key rate of nearly 240 bits per second with a quantum bit error rate of less than 7%. This entanglement-assisted quantum secure communication paves the way for real-time applications in quantum cyber security, including long-distance Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), the development of quantum networks, and the future quantum internet.
Under the project ‘Design and development of photonic technologies for free space QKD’, sanctioned by Directorate of Futuristic Technology Management (DFTM), DRDO, the demonstration was given by Prof Bhaskar Kanseri’s research group in the presence of several dignitaries, including the DRDO DG (MED, COS & CS), Director SAG, Director DFTM, Dean (R&D) IIT Delhi,
Director (DIA-CoE) and DRDO laboratory scientists.
Earlier, India’s first intercity quantum communication link between Vindhyachal and Prayagraj in 2022, using commercial-grade underground dark optical fiber was demonstrated by DRDO scientists along with Prof Bhaskar’s team.
More recently, in 2024, the team successfully distributed quantum keys using entanglement over a 100 km spool of telecom-grade optical fiber in another DRDO-supported project.
These technologies are being developed through DRDO-Industry-Academia – Centres of Excellence (DIA-CoEs).

The 24-year-old, who recently turned professional, was victorious in his debut match in January this year, winning against Alton Wiggins via first-round stoppage.

The first Assembly of International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA), as envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for conservation of big cats in range countries, was held in New Delhi, today. Union Minster for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav presided over the meeting.
The Assembly, which is apex body of the IBCA, was attended by Ministerial delegation from 9 countries, viz., Kingdom of Bhutan, Kingdom of Cambodia, Kingdom of Eswatini, Republic of Guinea, Republic of India, Republic of Liberia, Republic of Suriname, Federal Republic of Somalia and Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Assembly unanimously endorsed Shri Bhupender Yadav as the President of the IBCA. The Assembly also endorsed Shri S.P. Yadav as the Director General of IBCA. Created by the Government of India, the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) is a coalition of 95 range countries with a mandate for conservation of seven big cats namely Tiger, Lion, Leopard, Snow Leopard,
Cheetah, Jaguar and Puma.
The Assembly endorsed the proceedings of the first International Steering Committee meeting of IBCA, which was held in April 2024, ratified the Headquarters Agreement signed by IBCA with Republic of India, approved the Workplan, Rules of Procedure of the Assembly and the manual of Staff and financial regulations of the IBCA.
The Indian Army contingent departed today to participate in 8th edition of the biennial India-French Joint Military Exercise SHAKTI. The exercise will be conducted at Camp Larzac, La Cavalerie, France from 18th June 2025 to 1st July 2025.
The Indian contingent comprising of 90 personnel is being represented primarily by a Battalion of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles,
besides personnel from other arms and services. The French contingent comprising of 90 personnel will be represented by personnel from the 13th Foreign Legion Half- Brigade (13th DBLE).
Exercise SHAKTI is a biennial training engagement between the Indian and French Armies, aimed at enhancing interoperability, operational coordination, and military to military connect.
This edition will focus on joint operations in a sub-conventional environment under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, with training being conducted in semi-urban terrain.
Exercise SHAKTI-VIII underscores the growing defence cooperation between India and France and will strengthen strategic ties between the two friendly nations.
Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) said its board has approved setting up a 250 kilo tonnes per annum (ktpa) integrated zinc metal complex at Debari, Rajasthan. The investment for the project is estimated at Rs. 12,000 crore.
The new smelter and associated expansions are expected to be completed within 36 months. The investment will be funded through internal accruals and debt.
As of the financial year 2025, HZL had a smelting capacity of 1,129 ktpa with a 93 per cent capacity utilisation. The proposed expansion is expected to raise the total capacity to 1,379 ktpa.

Remittances remain essential for the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The IDFR is one of the key initiatives to implement the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (Objective 20), which calls for the reduction of remittance transfer costs, and greater financial inclusion through remittances.
