Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the CGD project in Alipurduar, West Bengal.
The City Gas Distribution (CGD) project, worth over Rs 1010 crore, aims to provide Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to more than 2.5 Lakh households,
over 100 commercial establishments and industries besides providing Compressed Natural Gas to vehicular traffic by establishing around 19 CNG stations in line with the Minimum Work Program (MWP) targets stipulated by the Government. It will provide convenient, reliable, environment-friendly and cost-effective fuel supply and create employment opportunities in the region.
The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, launched the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA-2025) at the ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA), Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

A key highlight of the day was the release of a novel fish vaccine – “CIFA Argu VAX–I” – by the Hon’ble Agriculture Minister. Developed by ICAR-CIFA, this vaccine targets parasitic infections in fish, offering a significant breakthrough in fish health management and reducing economic losses in aquaculture.
On the sidelines, an exhibition was organized showcasing innovations and products by Self Help Groups (SHGs), KVK Khordha, and ICAR-CIFA, reflecting community involvement and grassroots innovation.

NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, signed a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) today with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT) at Mumbai.
The Joint Venture Company (JVC) to be formed under this agreement will be instrumental in developing up to 2000 MW of renewable energy projects including solar, wind, hybrid, floating solar, BESS, pumped storage and solar parks, with an initial focus on 500 MW in Phase I, eventually scaling to 5000 MW in Maharashtra.
The JVC will have an equity structure of 74% held by NIRL and 26% by MAHAPREIT.
Under this, MAHAPREIT, will facilitate in identification & allotment of land for the projects in addition to support development of Power Evacuation System to the Grid. NIRL on the other hand will help in preparing the detailed project reports, arranging finance and Development of RE project.
The Government of India has imposed stock limits on wheat applicable to Traders/Wholesalers, Retailers, Big Chain Retailers and Processors in all States and Union Territories. The Removal of Licensing Requirements, Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions on Specified Foodstuffs (Amendment) Order, 2025 is issued on 27 May 2025 and is applicable until 31st March 2026,
for all States and Union Territories.
The Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA), operating under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), has announced the rollout of its pilot initiative Niveshak Shivir. The first pilot camp will be held on June 1, 2025, at Pune from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
This initiative aims to serve as a one-stop solution for investors to resolve issues related to unclaimed dividends and shares, and offer direct access to investor services.
As part of this program, IEPFA aims to offer:
Direct facilitation of unclaimed dividends held for six to seven years,
On-the-spot update of KYC and nomination,
Resolution of pending IEPFA claim issue.
Niveshak Shivir aims to eliminate intermediaries by fostering direct interactions between investors, companies, and Registrars and Transfer Agents (RTAs), while also providing an immediate redressal mechanism for investor grievances.
Hitachi India announced appointment of N Venu as its Managing Director, with effect from June 2, 2025.
This follows the elevation of Hitachi's first Indian Managing Director Bharat Kaushal, Corporate officer, Hitachi Ltd to Executive Chairman Hitachi India with effect from April 1, 2025, a company statement said.

Saarathi Finance, a newly licensed Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), has made a significant entry into India’s financial services sector by raising ₹475 crores in its debut funding round. This substantial capital infusion is aimed at empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country,
particularly those in underserved and semi-urban regions, by enhancing their access to formal credit.
The funding round saw robust participation from leading investors such as TVS Capital Funds, Lok Capital, Evolvence Equity Partners, Paragon Partners, and a consortium of angel investors, who together contributed approximately ₹350 crores.
The remaining amount was invested by Saarathi’s co-founders, Vivek Bansal and Sunil Daga, demonstrating their strong belief in the company’s mission and long-term vision. The Series A round has valued Saarathi Finance at over ₹900 crores, positioning it as a formidable new player in the MSME lending space.
