With continued policy support, India is on track to achieve a solar module production capacity of 100 GW by 2030.

In Islamabad's first major involvement in lunar exploration, Pakistan's space agency SUPARCO has joined hands with China for its upcoming Chang'e-8 moon mission in 2028. An indigenous rover built by the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) will reportedly join the Chang'e 8 mission, which is part of the larger International Lunar Research Station (ILRS).
The collaboration is aimed at contributing to scientific research on the Moon, particularly in the study of its south pole, according to a report by Pakistan Observer.
According to NASA, Chang'e 8 is designed to test technologies necessary for the construction of a lunar science base.
It will also conduct surveys and scientific experiments including earth observation, analysis of lunar samples, and test resource utilization techniques to asses sustaining a terrestrial ecosystem in the lunar environment.
China's upcoming Chang'e-8 moon mission is reportedly offering an unprecedented amount of space for equipment for other countries.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stone for north India's first 1-MW green hydrogen plant at Dabhota in Himachal's Solan district and asked officials to complete the project within a year. The project, being developed by Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) in collaboration with Oil India Limited, is set to be established,
at a cost of Rs 9.04 crore
The state government had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Oil India Limited on April 26, 2023, focusing on the development of solar energy, green hydrogen, geothermal energy, and compressed biogas.
Following a detailed assessment, a 4,000-square-metre land parcel in Dabhota was selected for the plant.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister reaffirmed Himachal Pradesh's commitment to becoming India's first green energy state by March 2026.
The production process will consume approximately 52.01 units of electricity per kilogram of hydrogen. Annually, the plant is expected to generate 1,54,395 kilograms of green hydrogen.
The Ministry of Defence, on February 08, 2025, signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited in New Delhi for procurement of 28 EON-51 systems for 11 New Generation Offshore Patrol Vessels and three Cadet Training Ships for the Indian Navy at a total cost of Rs 642.17 crore, including taxes under Buy (Indian-IDDM) category.
EON-51 is an Electro Optical Fire Control System which provides search, detection and classification of targets using Electro Optical and Thermal Imagers devices. The scheme will generate employment over a period of three years and encourage active participation of various Indian industries including MSMEs, thus significantly contributing to the Government’s efforts.
A meeting of the Central Advisory Committee (CAC) for the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY) was held today under the Chairmanship of Dr. Virendra Kumar, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment and Chairperson of the CAC. Extensive discussion of the three components of the scheme i.e Adarsh Gram, Grant-in-aid and Hostel component,
was done by CAC members and the important role of states/UTs were outlined. The members of CAC appreciated the significant progress made under the scheme’s three core components.
The committee further deliberated on strategies to expand the scheme's reach to the larger SC population and enhance its effectiveness.
Emphasis was placed on strengthening collaboration at the States and District levels, fostering greater community participation, ensuring timely project implementation, and monitoring the outcomes to achieve maximum impact.
Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain clinched a gold medal in the women’s 75kg category whereas Shiva Thapa bagged silver in the men’s 63.5kg category in the ongoing 38th National Games. Assam’s Lovlina, who was boxing for the first time since the Paris 2024 Olympics, beat Chandigarh’s Pranshu Rathore 5-0 by unanimous decision to mark a triumphant return to the ring.
In the men’s 63.5kg category final, Shiva Thapa who represented India at the London 2012 Olympics, had to settle for silver after suffering a narrow 4-3 defeat against Vanshaj of Services Sports Central Board.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) unveiled new initiatives aimed at enhancing the safety of internet banking for users. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra introduced the 'bank.in' domain for Indian banks, set to launch in April, as a measure to prevent digital frauds.
"This exclusive domain will help reduce banking fraud risks, followed by the introduction of the 'fin.in' domain for the financial sector," Malhotra explained.
In addition to the domain launch, Malhotra proposed extending the Additional Factor of Authentication (AFA) to international online payments made to offshore merchants who are enabled for such security measures.
Malhotra also emphasized that banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) must continually enhance both preventive and detective controls to tackle cyber risks. They are urged to develop robust incident response and recovery plans, tested regularly, to ensure operational resilience.
CleanMax, one of Asia’s leading renewable energy and net-zero solution provider for the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) sector and a Brookfield-backed company announced a new Power Purchase Agreement with Amazon, which includes the development of 100 MW of renewable energy project.
This project will be connected to the national grid of India and will help meet the electricity consumption needs by Amazon’s operations. CleanMax will develop and operate the wind farm, which is expected to be operational by Q2 2026, generating roughly 355 million kWh of clean electricity annually and offsetting an estimated 252,000 tons of CO₂ annually —
equivalent to planting nearly 14.8 million trees.
The agreement supports Amazon’s ‘Climate Pledge commitment’ in efforts to meet electricity needs of its operations and achieve net-zero carbon emissions across of its operations by 2040.
This collaboration also underscores a larger trend of global tech companies deepening their presence, with an increasing commitment to sustainable practices and responsible corporate goals.
