In a significant achievement for consumer grievance redressal in the country, ten States, along with the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC), recorded a disposal rate of over 100 percent in the month of July 2025, indicating that the number of cases resolved exceeded the number of cases filed during this period.
As per data from the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, NCDRC achieved a disposal rate of 122 percent, while Tamil Nadu recorded 277 percent, Rajasthan 214 percent, Telangana 158 percent, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand 150 percent each, Meghalaya 140 percent, Kerala 122 percent, Puducherry 111 percent, Chhattisgarh 108 percent and,
Uttar Pradesh 101 percent.
Analysis of the data for the period from 1 July to 31 July 2025 further reveals that the overall disposal of consumer cases across the country was substantially higher than the corresponding period in 2024, underscoring the continued efforts towards timely and effective resolution of consumer disputes.
Adding to this achievement, as of 6th August 2025, over two lakh users, including NRIs, have registered on the e-Jagriti platform since its launch, and 85,531 cases have been filed through it this year alone.

NHAI has successfully implemented the ‘FASTag Annual Pass’ facility from 15th August 2025 at about 1,150 Toll Plazas on National Highways and Expressways across the country.
Till 7 PM on the first day of implementation, around 1.4 lakh users purchased & activated the annual pass and around 1.39 lakh transactions were recorded on toll plazas.
NHAI officials and Nodal officers have been appointed on each toll plaza to ensure a smooth travel experience for the pass users. NHAI is addressing queries of the pass users through various channels. Also, to address the grievances of pass users, 1033 National Highway Helpline has been further strengthened with the addition of over 100 executives.
Providing a seamless and economical travel option to the National Highway users, the FASTag Annual Pass eliminates the need to frequently recharge FASTag through one-time fee payment of Rs. 3,000 for one year validity or 200 toll plaza crossings.

Bob Simpson, a former player, captain and coach and one of the most influential figures in Australian cricket, has died at the age of 89, who represented Australia in 62 Tests and two One-Day Internationals between 1957 and 1978.
Simpson scored 4,869 test runs, including 10 centuries and 27 half-centuries, and took 71 wickets, while captaining Australia in 39 tests.
Simpson was just 16 when he made his first-class debut for New South Wales state against Victoria.
He also coached Australia from 1986 to 1996 and under his firm and steady guidance, Australia won the 1987 World Cup, four Ashes campaigns and in 1995 the Frank Worrell Trophy, ending a 17-year drought against the West Indies.

President Droupadi Murmu approved 127 gallantry awards and 40 distinguished service awards for personnel of the armed forces and the Central Armed Police Forces on the eve of Independence Day.
The President also approved Tatrakshak Medals to five Indian Coast Guard personnel.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unveiled the logo, mascot, and trophy of the 12th Men’s Asia Cup Hockey Championship at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Patna.

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has rolled out fresh rules to make it simpler for its over 27 crore members to link Aadhaar with their Universal Account Number (UAN) and correct personal details. The move is aimed at cutting red tape, reducing employer dependency and speeding up benefit settlements.
Direct Aadhaar-UAN linking if details match
Members whose name, gender and date of birth match in both Aadhaar and UAN records can now approach their employer directly for Aadhaar seeding through the KYC function on the employer portal. In such cases, no additional EPFO approval will be needed.
Earlier, even straightforward matches often got delayed due to multiple verification layers.
Simplified Joint Declaration (JD) process
EPFO has overhauled its Joint Declaration (JD) mechanism for cases where Aadhaar and UAN details do not match, or where a wrong Aadhaar has been linked.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister remarked on the significance of the location, stating that the name of the expressway is “Dwarka,” and the programme is being held at “Rohini.”
The projects — the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) — have been developed under the Government’s comprehensive plan to decongest the capital, with the objective of greatly improving connectivity, cutting travel time, and reducing traffic in Delhi and its surrounding areas.
