VOC Port receives the first Clinker vessel in line with the MoU with Ambuja Cement Limited

VOC Port has received the first clinker consignment in line with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Ambuja Cement Limited, Gujarat, on 19.11.2025, as part of the Minimum Guaranteed Tonnage-based Incentive Scheme for coastal clinkers. The MoU ensures coastal movement of 2,50,000 metric tonnes of clinker annually.

VOC Port receives the first Clinker vessel in line with the MoU with Ambuja Cement Limited

On 24.11.2025, as part of this MoU commitment, the vessel MV Lima Trader was berthed at NCB-II. It carried 56,440 metric tonnes of coastal clinker from Sanghi Port, Gujarat. The vessel was received by M/s Seaport Shipping as the ship agent and is being handled by M/s Seaport Logistics as the stevedore.

This is the 9th consecutive year the port has crossed the 100 MMT mark and clocked 100.15 MMT and thus by exhibited a growth of 4.78 % on Y-o-Y basis and it has done so 12 days earlier than last fiscal.

Notably, in FY 2024-25, the coveted mark of 100 MMT was achieved on 9th December 2024. The record was achieved in 241 days in current fiscal against 253 days in last financial year.

Despite market challenges, the port continues to set new benchmarks. Faster operations, system improvements and consistent support from stakeholders have helped PPA stay ahead.

Mines ministry notifies new royalty rates for 4 critical minerals

The mines ministry notified new rationalised royalty rates for four critical minerals: Caesium, graphite, rubidium and zirconium. Graphite will attract ad-valorem royalty rates, moving from the per tonne royalty in effect since September 2014.

Graphite was the only critical and strategic mineral whose royalty rate was specified on a per tonne basis.
