India will host three major international maritime events in Feb 2026 at Visakhapatnam, namely, the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2026, Exercise MILAN 2026, and Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) Conclave of Chiefs, scheduled to be conducted from 15 to 25 Feb 2026. This marks India's maiden conduct of these major maritime events simultaneously.
The event realises the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's MAHASAGAR vision (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions), announced in 2025.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has embarked on a comprehensive strategic and technological review to shape the next decade of Aadhaar’s evolution through a new ‘Aadhaar Vision 2032’ framework.

This forward-looking roadmap will strengthen Aadhaar’s technological foundation, integrate emerging digital innovations, and ensure that India’s digital identity platform remains robust, inclusive, and future-ready.
UIDAI’s technology stack, which forms the backbone of Aadhaar services and works as a facilitator of our digital economy, is set for a major upgrade.
To guide this ambitious transformation, UIDAI has constituted a high-level Expert Committee under the chairmanship of Shri Neelkanth Mishra, Chairperson, UIDAI.
The committee includes: Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar, CEO, UIDAI; Shri Vivek Raghavan, Co-Founder of Sarvam AI; Shri Dheeraj Pandey, Founder of Nutanix; Shri Sasikumar Ganesan, Head of Engineering, MOSIP; Shri Rahul Matthan, Partner, Trilegal; Shri Navin Budhiraja, CTO & Head of Products, Vianai Systems; Dr. Prabaharan Poornachandran, Professor at Amrita University; Shri Anil Jain,

The committee will develop the Aadhaar Vision 2032 document, outlining the framework for next-generation Aadhaar architecture aligned with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, and emerging global standards.

A new three-year initiative, the SMART-CROP project, has been launched to support over 8,000 smallholder farmers across Karnataka and Telangana.
Supported by the SBI Foundation’s LEAP programme, this project will use satellite imaging, remote sensing, and AI/ML analytics to provide real-time crop stress monitoring.
This will enable farmers to take proactive measures against climate risks, pest and disease outbreaks, and soil degradation, ultimately strengthening their resilience and productivity.
The SBI Foundation has joined hands with the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Raichur, the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) and Agribridge to launch the project SMART-CROP (Sustainable Monitoring and Real-time Tracking for Crop Resilience and Optimal Practices).
Indian-origin scientist Balaji Krishnan has won the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Computing and Communication Networks (ICCCNet-UK 2025) conference for his paper titled “AI-Enabled Design for Personalized Financial Management and Advisory: Design & Early-Stage Evaluation for Intelligent Financial Devices.”
Krishnan, Senior Technical Architect in the infotech industry in San Francisco, has developed a framework that enables AI systems to deliver personalised financial recommendations — such as savings and investment plans — while maintaining a fully auditable trail to meet ethical and regulatory standards.
His work features a patented design (UK Design Patent No. 6408749) for a data-processing device that embeds algorithmic transparency into financial and citizen-facing applications, ensuring explainability for regulators, auditors, and end users.
A six-week pilot demonstrated strong results, with budget adherence rising from 57 per cent to 80 per cent and critical alerts dropping by nearly 60 per cent.
The research aligns with international standards outlined in the OECD policy paper (2024) and the Bank of England’s 2025 discussion paper on responsible automation.
Krishnan’s follow-up paper, “A Framework for Intelligent Cloud Systems: Enabling Secure, Policy-Driven, and Sustainable AI at Scale,” which won top honors at The International Conference on Computing Technologies (ICOCT) 2025, extends these principles to large-scale public-sector infrastructure.
Punjab’s Namitbir Singh Walia from Jalandhar has become an International Master (IM) in Chess by securing the fourth overall position at the 3rd Annemasse International Masters Tournament in France, recently.
He began playing chess at the age of six. He started taking coaching at the age of seven in 2012 and played in the 7 category as well.
Kanwarjit coached him till 2020, and then he went on to advanced coaching.
A student of Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi, Namitbir Singh’s chess record includes the Senior State FIDE Rating Open Chess Championship this year. He remains active at key international chess events.
Namitbir is the second from Punjab to achieve this accomplishment, after almost four years of Dushyant Sharm,a who made history as Punjab’s first International Master in February 2022. He was also initially coached by Kanwarjit Singh.
